Elizabeth
R. Wellborn, Esquire
Elizabeth R. Wellborn is the founder of The Law Offices of Elizabeth
R. Wellborn P.A. She founded the firm in 2003. She has developed
a strong presence amongst the most well-known mortgage foreclosure
practices in the State of Florida.
Mrs. Wellborn is a member of the State Bars of Florida, Texas and
Georgia and a member of the Bar of the District of Columbia. She
is admitted to practice in front of the United States District Court
for the Southern , Middle and Northern Districts of Florida and
the U.S. Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit. She is also a member of
the Broward County Bar Association and the Mortgage Bankers Association.
Mrs. Wellborn is versed in all aspects of Real Estate litigation
including the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair
Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA),
Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA), the Home
Ownership Equity Protection Act (HOEPA), and more.
Mrs. Wellborn received her Juris Doctorate from Emory University
School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia, in May 1992. While at Emory,
she was Associate Editor of the Emory International Law Journal
and a member of Phi Delta Phi Fraternity. She participated in the
National Institute of Trial Advocacy Program, Student Division:
American Bar Association.
Prior to attending law school, Mrs. Wellborn received her Bachelor
of Arts in American Government in 1988 from Cornell University in
Ithaca, New York. At Cornell, she was the manager of the women’s
Varsity Basketball team and a member of Alpha Phi Omega National
Service Fraternity. She also earned Dean’s List Honors and
won numerous academic scholarships.
Mrs. Wellborn has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in
the foreclosure industry. She continues to grow her practice and
stay on the cutting edge by attending seminars, lectures and conferences
within the default loan servicing industry.
